Golden Blooms in a Teal Vase

A joyful one-off vintage floral still life, full of warmth, texture and painterly charm. Golden yellow flowers spill from a deep teal vase, softened by clusters of pink blooms and set against a rich, earthy brown background. The palette has a lovely nostalgic glow, sunny yellows, dusky rose, olive green and blue-green, making it a beautiful piece for adding colour and character to a room without feeling too bright or modern.

The surface has visible brushwork and raised texture, especially through the petals, giving the painting a tactile, handmade quality. It is set in a wood-toned frame with warm gilt, cream and red inner detailing, which adds to its vintage character and gives the piece a ready-to-hang, collected feel.

Signed to the lower left, appearing to read “Jean Zettel”, with an old Croydon framer’s label on the reverse. The artist has not been verified, so this piece is sold as a decorative vintage artwork chosen for its colour, texture and character.

The reverse includes an old framer’s label for C.W. Browne / Croydon Art & Framing Centre, Church Street, Croydon, adding a lovely sense of history and place to the piece. The canvas back shows age-related marks and patina, as expected with a vintage artwork. It is fitted with hanging wire and appears ready to hang, though we always recommend checking fixtures are suitable for your wall.

Condition Note

Vintage condition with age-related character. The frame has visible wear, scuffs and patina, particularly around the gilt and painted inner edges, which adds to its charm.
